26.7% of Pinellas County residents report being food insecure (ran out of food or worried they’d run out of food in the last 12 months).
This is largely attributed to the increased challenges of accessing food assistance, a lack of adequate transportation, mental and/or physical disabilities, a lack of cooking facilities, and busy work schedules.
Meanwhile, the Pinellas County Solid Waste Disposal Complex identified food as the second largest waste category in the county.
With your donations, we’ve been able to cover expenses used to provide over 400 meals each week, and prevent over 4,000 pounds of food from ending up in landfills and your generous gift allows us to do even more.
